On Tuesday, 28 February 2017, a panel of two international and one local judge decided to replace the measure of detention on remand with house detention for the defendant N.K .
The judicial panel, after careful deliberation of the case, concluded that the new circumstances disclosed after the previous ruling on detention on remand justify application of more lenient measures, in line with the Article 171(3) of the CPC.
The ruling of the court stipulate that the defendant will not be allowed to move from his residence without prior consent of the court. His contacts are restricted, he is not allowed to directly or indirectly approach witnesses. All his travel documents are temporarily confiscated. The relevant police station has to verify compliance with these measures by submitting daily report for the Court.
The house detention measure will expire on 03 April 2017.
All sides have the right to appeal.
