Kosovo’s judicial system exists to serve the public interest. Kosovo’s judicial system belongs to all citizens of Kosovo, regardless of their national origin, ethnicity or gender.
Basic Court of Prishtinë is one of seven courts in Republic of Kosovo. Basic Court of Prishtinë has four branches: Gllogovc, Graçanicë, Podujevë and Lipjan. Basic Court of Prishtinë and its four branches provide easier access to services of the first instance court to the regional population under the jurisdiction of the Basic Court of Prishtinë.
As a court of first instance, the Basic Court of Prishtinë and four of its branches deal will all kinds of cases. These cases are handled by specialized departments that operate within each basic court.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Court branches in Gllogovc, Graçanicë, Podujevë dhe Lipjan deal only with cases under the competence of the General Department. Cases that fall under the other two selected departments are resolved in Basic Court in Prishtinë.
Basic Court in Prishtinë is the main headquarter of the Judicial Region of Prishtinë which covers the municipalities of:

-Fushë Kosovë
-Gllogovc
-Graçanicë
-Lipjan
-Obiliq
– Podujevë
Court branches serve as a geographical subdivision of the Basic Court and are located in Gllogovc, Graçanicë, Lipjan dhe Podujevë. Municipality of Gllogovc, is served from the branch of Gllogovc, municipality of Graçanicë is served from the branch of Graçanicë, and Lipjan municipality is served from its branch as well, while the municipality of Prishtinë, Fushë Kosovë and Obiliq is served from the Basic Court in Prishtinë.
